Philippe VI (1328-50) gold Écu d'or à la chaise ND AU50 NGC, 4th emission, from 13 August 1348, Fr-270, Duplessy-249B. + PhILIPPVS 8 DЄI | oo GRA oo | FRAnCORVM 8 RЄX, King seated on Gothic throne, a sword in his right hand and his left supporting a shield / + x XP'C : VInCIT : XP'C : RЄGИAT : XP'C : IMPЄRAT, cross fleurée with voided quatrefoil in center and at the ends of the limbs, leaves in angles; all within a quadrilobe with trefoils in spandrels. An example with much residual luster but flatly struck in the centers.
