Louis-Philippe I copper Essai 5 Centimes 1840 MS63 Brown NGC, Paris mint, Maz-1146var. Despite the MS designation by NGC, rather Proof in appearance, with ultra-crisp design elements and impressive gloss in the fields. It's the beautiful blue and purple tone throughout that really sets this example apart however! Seemingly quite rare as a type as well (we've been able to locate no comparable examples), and resembling Mazard-1146 rather closely, with the only major variation being the absence of "1840" next to Barre's signature on the obverse (cf. Maz-1151).
