William III silver "Toleration Act" Medal 1689 MS61 NGC, Eimer-314, MI 683/64, 50mm. By Philipp Heinrich Muller. Struck at Nuremberg. Lettered edge, housed in an NGC "Jumbo" holder.. A large, silver medal commemorating religious freedom given to those who dissented from the Church of England as long as they pledged certain allegiances. William is hereby depicted as the restorer of liberty and the preserver of religious freedom. The reverse imagery features Britannia and William holding hands, Religion and Liberty behind, and a Bible above. Stunning, with pewter-gray patina and golden highlights that cling to the devices.
