Cisalpine Republic Scudo of 6 Lire Anno VIII (1800) AU58 NGC, KM-C2. The Cisalpine Republic was an artificial creation by Napoleon encompassing much of northern Italy. It lasted but a few years. This example, displaying marvelous charcoal gray toning and just minimal wear should evoke spirited bidding. This coin celebrates the Battle of Marengo, where Napoleon defeated the Austrian forces.
