China, Quing Dynasty, Emperor Renzong (era Jia Quing 1796-1820). . "Pattern coin" Jia Qing tongbao ????, AE cash, weight 5,2 g., Board of Works mint, Peking. Obv. Jia Qing Tong Bao, rev. Boo Chiowan.. . . . This extremely rare pattern was used to serve as a model to do the molds for the "mother coins". The Chinese description indicates that this is indeed a ´ diao mu?? ª, meaning litterally a "sculpted mother coin" ´ [coin] mother (mu) sculpted (diao) ª, also referred to as ´ ?? zu qian ª. . . .
