Obv. bare head left, legend NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR, underneath BOUVET F and mint mark A.; rev. imperial crowned arms on a mantel with spectrum and hand of Justice, with legend 5 - F.. . Very low mintage: only 10,599.struck, making this coin a scarce piece among the Napoleon III Silver 5 Francs coinage series, especially in MS grades (the combined mintage for all years :14,145,228 struck for this type). . .
