(Belgium) to celebrate the Ottoman Alliance with France and England against Russia, and their victory during the siege of the Silistra fortress in Bulgaria. Diameter 64,0mm. Obv. Sultan's bust almost full-face, with order over cloak and plumed hat, around him a border of shields naming the military hierarchy of the Crimean War, rev drapped Europas holding a sword and a bar with mosque and minaret left as background, legend LA FRANCE ET L'ANGLETERRE UNIES POUR LA DEFENSE DU DROIT, DIEU LE VEUT. Extremely fine, except for a small dent on the edge at 4h., with a splendid red brown patina, highlighting further the detailed high relief design of Hart's medallistic art..
