Lascar Catargiu was a Romanian politician, Prime Minister of Romania in four seats. In 1866 he became one of the three members of the Royal lieutenant who led the Romanian state at the abdication of Alexandru Ioan Cuza until the enthronement of King Carol I. Medal above is designed by one of the Royal House of Romania engravers - Radivon son. and reverse has the engraved name M. Carniol Fiul, Some text removed from under bust on obverse. 29mm diameter, fitted with loop for ribbon (Missing) Otherwise AU and some red lustre
