Constantine I. A.D. 307-337. Billon centenionalis or argenteus (17.33 mm, 3.13 g, 6 h). Trier mint, struck A.D. 312. IMP CONSTANTINVS AVG, cuirassed bust left in high-crested helmet, holding spear over right shoulder / VICTORIAE LAETAE PRINC PERP, two Victories holding shield inscribed VOT PR on altar with prism pattern; PTR in exergue. This was a short-lived experimental issue in billon i 312 which Constantine called "centenionalis" - 100 to the solidus. Omitted from RIC vi in error, it was the pattern which was revived 7 years later as the lower-silver billon centenionalis which is more familiar to most everyone.
