Lambayeque (Sican) bottle from Peru, ca. 700 - 1300 A.D. This nicely detailed creamware vessel is 7-1/4 high and is decorated with wave designs and solar symbols painted in black over the cream slip. The flared base has the deeply incised geometric designs characteristic of the type. Extensively used, good mineral deposits. Ex Llerena collection. Value range: $400 - $600.
