Charles I. 1625-1649. AR halfpound. 59.32 gm. 46 mm. Oxford Mint (Shrewsbury die reverse). Plume with band i.m. 1642. The King on horseback left (Shrewsbury horseman) trampling arms on the ground, Oxford plume behind; CAROLVS: D: G: MAG:BRIT: FRAN: ET: HIB: REX• / Declaration across center; •X• and three Shrewsbury plumes above; date below; DEVS: DISSIPENTVR: INIMICI: EXVRGAT. S. 2944. N. 2403. Morrieson A/1. Very Fine; old toning over fresh and appealing surfaces nicely highlighting the design; the obverse is cleanly struck and well detailed; the reverse shows double striking ("die shifting") in the bottom half; there is a slight edge nick on the reverse at 8 and a couple of insignificant edge bruises.
