George I. 1714-1727. Copper farthing. 4.93 gm. 23 mm. Second issue. 1724. His laureate bust right; GEORGIVS REX around / Britannia seated left; BRITAN-NIA around, 1724 below. S. 3662. Peck 828 (S). Extremely Fine; beautiful even light brown over fresh surfaces, a bit of die wear in evidence; hair details weak at highest point-the design of this coin called for more metal than provided by the usual flan.

High grade George I farthings seem particularly rare, almost certainly a reflection of the dearth of small change during the reign of George I.
