Attica, Athens. Fourrée Tetradrachm (14.25 g), ca. 454-404 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right, frontal eye. Reverse: AΘE, owl standing right, head facing; above to left, olive-spray with berry and crescent; all within incuse square. Cf. Kroll 8; cf. Svoronos pl. 14; cf. SNG Copenhagen 31-40. Two ancient test cuts on the reverse. The perfect example for a contemporary "Money of Necessity," Athenian plated tetradrachm. Very Fine. Estimate Value $300 - 350
