Great Britain. Crown, 1700. S.3474; ESC-97; Dav-3782. William III. Obverse, third bust variety. Similar to the regular third bust but the dies have been recut and the king's hair varied a little. The tie is slightly longer and thinner than on the normal third bust. Reverse; Crowned cruciform shields around the lion of Nassau at center. Third harp, scroll front and back. Edge: DECVS ET TVTAMEN ANNO REGNI DVODECIMO in raised letters. A beautifully struck uncirculated specimen with much original underlying mint luster under a light tone. The reverse is slightly more toned. The 1700 Crown is scarcer than the 1695 and 1696, although all William III Crowns are truly rare in uncirculated grades. PCGS graded MS-62. WINGS. Estimate Value $2,200 - 2,500
