Scotland. Pattern Crown, 1716. S.5731. James VIII of Scotland (The Old Pretender), struck in silver by Matthew Young (c.1828) from dies prepared by the engraver Roettier. Plain edge. Laureate and draped bust facing right. Reverse: Crowned shield of arms. Richly toned example. Absolutely as struck it exhibits small rust marks-typical of all known examples and is a testimony to its authenticity. NGC graded MS-62. WINGS. Estimate Value $1,800 - 2,000
