1787 1/2 C Massachusetts Half Cent MS62 Brown NGC. Ryder 4-C, W-5940, R.2. This is a pleasing type-coin example of the 1787 Massachusetts half cent, showing glossy burgundy-brown surfaces that are free of environmental impairments. The strike is even and well-centered. Central definition is above average -- the shield is not fully defined, but HALF CENT is bold; the Indian's tunic is well-detailed. Satiny luster remains in the fields. Census: 9 in 62 Brown, 19 finer (1/17).
