Half Cents
1795 1/2 C Plain Edge, No Pole, Thin Planchet, C-6a, B-6a, R.2 -- Double Struck -- VF30 NGC. Ex: Missouri Curio Cabinet. Rotated double struck. Both strikes were normal, but the dies rotated about 20 degrees counter-clockwise between blows from the press. The doubling is most prominent on UNITED STATES OF, though two dates and denominators are present, and the upper portion of the wreath is a jumble. A nicely defined medium brown half cent. Free from verdigris, though we note a couple of hair-thin lines on the portrait, and a small obverse rim depression at 4 o'clock. Our EAC grade Fine 12.
