Flying Eagle Cents
1857 1C Doubled Die Obverse, Snow-3, FS-105, MS64 PCGS. CAC. FS-101 and FS-105 exhibit very similar obverse die doubling, strongest on the eagle's eye and beak, and the final letters in AMERICA. The varieties are distinguished by their wingtips: FS-101 is from the missing wingtip hub, while FS-105 was coined from the broken wingtip hub. A sharply struck and lustrous chestnut-gold near-Gem. Marks and carbon are inconsequential.
