Proof Indian Cents
1862 1C PR66 Cameo PCGS. Few 1862 proof cents achieve the Cameo designation, in part because not many display strongly mirrored fields such as this Premium Gem example. Coppery-orange luster gleams from the glassy-smooth surfaces and blankets the frosted devices. The sharp strike is emblematic of a no-question proof, and only a few minuscule copper flecks disturb the otherwise pristine surfaces. Population: 26 in 66 (2 in 66+) Cameo, 4 finer (1/17).
