1944-D/S 1C FS-511 MS65 Red PCGS. This Guide Book and Cherrypickers' variety shows a the secondary S mintmark above and behind the primary D. A scarce and popular variety, it is seldom available in Gem Red grade. Lustrous orange-red surfaces display blue accents and just two or three microscopic carbon flecks on this example. Sharply struck, only a few minor ticks on the shoulder are noted but they are largely inconsequential to the strong eye appeal. Population: 44 in 65 (1 in 65+) Red, 12 finer (1/17).
