1944-D/S 1C FS-511 MS65 Red PCGS. The errant S mintmark is evident north of the D. This is the scarcer of the two D Over S varieties for the date and is in high demand. The present Gem Red example is ideal for Registry Set collectors. The strike is bold, and each side displays vibrant copper-orange and rose-red hues. A few scattered specks are not out of line for the grade. Population: 44 in 65 (1 in 65+) Red, 12 finer (1/17).
