Three Cent Silver
1858 3CS MS66 PCGS. Final year (and most plentiful) of the Type Two series. The three cent series -- both silver and nickel -- can rightfully be termed as overlooked by type collectors, most likely because of their diminutive size. Few were set aside, though, and when type takes off again the Type Two three cent silver pieces are poised for significant gains. This piece displays thick mint frost beneath golden-gray and sea-green toning. Die clashed, as usual. Population: 38 in 66 (2 in 66+), 12 finer (1/17).
