Buffalo Nickels
1935 5C Doubled Die Reverse, FS-803, AU58 PCGS. A scarce Cherrypickers' variety, often confused with the better-known FS-801 reverse doubled die, although the FS-803 may in fact be rarer. Doubling is most visible on the fattened letters of FIVE CENTS, particularly at the top-right of VE and NTS. Die doubling exists on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM as well, abundantly visible on this example at F in OF. The Guide Book shows the two Cherrypickers' varieties combined as one listing.
