1943/2-P 5C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-101, MS66 Full Steps PCGS. A sharp, untoned example of the popular Guide Book overdate, which also displays doubling on the obverse legends. Strong mint luster adds to the vibrant eye appeal. Remnants of the underlying 2 beneath the 3 of the date are readily apparent with magnification. The Bowers reference suggests about 200,000 circulation strikes of the FS-301 variety were produced from an overall mintage of more than 271 million nickels. This example is sharply struck with just a few microscopic marks on the jawline. Population: 40 in 66 (5 in 66+) Full Steps, 7 finer (1/17).
