Seated Half Dimes
1861/0 H10C FS-301 MS66 PCGS. The faint remnant of what has been called an underlying 0 is evident at the left base of the final 1 in the date. Although not recognized as a true overdate in the 2017 Guide Book, this variety is scarce in Mint State, and the present coin is near the Condition Census of pieces attributed by PCGS. The strike is sharp except for on the upper-left portion of the wreath, and each side offers satiny mint luster with attractive olive-green and gold toning. Close examination with a loupe fails to reveal any noteworthy abrasions.
