Twenty Cent Pieces
1875-CC 20C MS64 NGC. BF-2, R.1. The two most-available twenty cent pieces of the short-lived series are both branch mint issues, the 1875-S and the 1875-CC. Of the two, the Carson City issue is the preferred option for many collectors. This lustrous near-Gem is brilliant and frosty with a faint tinge of gold at the rims. The coin is sharply struck with only slight incompleteness at the high point of the eagle's breast feathers -- all else displays nearly full details. Only minor abrasions are visible under a loupe, individually inconsequential and widely scattered on the lustrous fields. Census: 94 in 64 (4 in 64+), 39 finer (1/17).
