Early Quarters
1796 25C B-2, R.3, PCGS Genuine. AG Details. The Small Eagle quarter ranks among the rarest silver types, as it was struck only in 1796, the first year of the denomination. On the present piece, a name and date were lightly and indistinctly pinscratched on the reverse by a proud 19th century finder. The date is sharp, the portrait is nicely outlined, and the eagle is outlined save for the left (facing) wing. LIBERTY and UNITED STATES OF AM are mostly worn smooth.
