1840-O 25C Drapery, Large O, FS-501, XF40 PCGS. Briggs 1-A. Equally sought for the Large O mintmark and the usual doubled denticles on the reverse, this Cherrypickers' variety is seldom seen and it is among the rarest Seated quarter varieties regardless of date or Mint. We have only offered a few examples over the past 20 years of our archives. This example is an ideal collector coin for series specialists -- most of whom are well aware of its rarity. Smooth, golden-gray patina deepens at the rims while the surfaces show only moderate wear and an absolute minimum of marks. This piece is a coup for the successful bidder.
