Seated Quarters
1853 25C Arrows and Rays MS64 PCGS. Arrows and Rays were added to the design of the quarter in 1853 to signify a weight change in silver coinage that year. The Rays were dropped the following year, but the Arrows remained through 1855. This attractive Choice example is well-detailed, with just a touch of flatness on some star centers. The well-preserved, lustrous surfaces are visited by shades of champagne-gold and lavender-gray toning. PCGS has graded 29 numerically finer examples (12/16).
