Seated Quarters
1862 25C MS65 PCGS. Briggs 1-A. A substantial mintage of 932,000 Seated Liberty quarters was accomplished at the Philadelphia Mint in 1862, but the issue is more difficult to locate than the large production total would suggest. The 1862 quarters may have been heavily melted during the Civil War. This sharply detailed Gem offers well-preserved, lightly toned surfaces with vibrant mint luster throughout. Population: 13 in 65, 12 finer (12/16).
