Seated Quarters
1874-S 25C Arrows MS64+ PCGS. CAC. Brief areas of golden-tan and deep iridescent toning are interspersed with large areas of lustrous and lightly toned silver-gray patina. The strike is sharp across most of the coin but not full on Liberty's uppermost hair strands. Struck with arrows on either side of the date to denote an increase in its weight (and slightly higher intrinsic value), the Arrows design is a two-year type in the quarter series. This example is high-end for the Choice Mint State grade, free of all but a handful of tiny ticks over the frosty surfaces. CAC endorsed and the sole coin with the PCGS Plus designation at the MS64 level. Population: 63 in 64 (1 in 64+), 91 finer. CAC: 8 in 64, 11 finer (1/17).
