Standing Liberty Quarters
1917-D 25C Type Two MS65 Full Head PCGS. Ex: Cherny. With the change from the Type One to the Type Two Standing Liberty quarter design in 1917, the relief of the design elements also increased, revealing striking difficulties at the branch mints. The 1917-D Type Two is seldom seen with Full Head detail in high grade. This Gem example displays satiny golden luster without significant abrasions. Liberty's head shows adequate definition, but the figure and eagle exhibit more typical strike weakness. Population: 68 in 65 Full Head, 29 finer (1/17).
