Proof Flying Eagle Cents
1856 1C Snow-9 PR53 PCGS. Designated a proof by PCGS but showing light circulation wear, as is often seen with the Snow-9 variety. This is an attractive representative of the first-year key to the Flying Eagle cent series. Both sides have toned in pleasing honey-brown and olive shades. The proof surface is no longer evident (indeed, the coin looks like a business strike), but the devices, although lightly rubbed, are boldly defined throughout. This is a remarkably distraction-free coin for the grade, ideal for the collector seeking a problem-free circulated example of this sought-after issue.
