Proof Buffalo Nickels
1936 5C Type One -- Satin Finish PR68 PCGS. The Mint resumed commercial proof set offerings in 1936, after a two-decade hiatus. The 1936 proof Buffalo nickel claims a mintage of 4,420 pieces, split between the Satin Finish examples produced early in the year, and the Brilliant Finish coins that were struck later. This magnificent PR68 specimen exhibits razor-sharp definition on all design elements, and the impeccably preserved surfaces show the strong matte luster that was characteristic of the Satin Finish coins. Eye appeal is tremendous. Population: 42 in 68 (2 in 68+), 1 finer (1/17).
