Early Half Dimes
1800 H10C V-1, LM-1, R.3, XF45 NGC. Diagnostic markers include TE in STATES low above the clouds, the star close to Y, and Star 1 close to the curl. A rim cud below the date confirms the late die state. This is a well-detailed pewter-gray Draped Bust half dime with accents of lavender and steel-blue. A couple of ticks appear scattered about the obverse, while the reverse is slightly cleaner by comparison. The reported mintage for this first-year type is only 40,000 coins.
