Seated Half Dimes
1866 H10C MS67+ PCGS. From a production of just 10,000 coins, this issue claims the third-lowest regular-issue mintage in the entire half dime series after the 1867 and 1802. Superb Gem representatives such as this are extremely rare. Dappled russet and violet-gray interiors turn to ice-blue toning at the borders, with the pattern more pronounced on the obverse than the reverse. Liberty's head, the shield, and the wreath are fully detailed. Clash marks appear on both sides. Although this Superb Gem proof is not designated as such, there is decided cameo contrast between the frosty devices and reflective fields, generating strong eye appeal. Population: 5 in 67 (3 in 67+), 0 finer (1/17).
