Early Half Dollars
1795 50C 2 Leaves, O-110a, T-21, R.3, VF35 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 4/2. Stars 5 and 8 are repunched. The berries are arranged 9x8 with two leaves below each wing. The late obverse die state shows a die crack from R into the field below TY through star 11 to the edge. Each side of this Choice VF Flowing Hair half dollar features a blanket of rich gunmetal-gray toning. Crisp detail on the hair, complete dentilation, and partial feathers on the eagle's breast make this a perfect example for type representation. Certified in an old green label holder.
