Early Half Dollars
1795 50C 2 Leaves, O-117a, T-3, R.4, VF35 PCGS. The obverse shows the diagnostic O-117a die crack from the bust to border, between the date and star 15, with a faint branch crack to the tops of 95, confirming the Overton variety. This example is sharply defined for a Choice VF coin, with hints of luster apparent in the protected areas. The surfaces display light gray toning with splashes of ivory on the high points. A short streak of deep toning through star 1 joins numerous light abrasions and lines visible with a lens. A pleasing example of the issue, seldom found in finer grades.
