The small O mintmark and a strong remnant of the underlying 7 inside the upper loop of the second 8 identify this popular variety. The 1880-O in general is scarce in Choice Deep Prooflike condition, but the VAM-4 overdate is rare this fine. The present coin is among the finest endorsed by CAC. The strike is impressively sharp, and surprisingly few abrasions are observed for the grade. Deeply mirrored fields delivers stark cameo contrast on each side.
