1854-D G$1 AU58 NGC. Variety 6-H. The final Type One Dahlonega gold dollar issue is extremely scarce, as suggested by its minute mintage of 2,935 pieces. This pale gold representative shows moderate softness of strike at the centers, as is common for the variety, but no abrasions are consequential, and luster fills the legends and outlines the wreath. Census: 26 in 58, 25 finer (12/16).
