Early Half Eagles
1807 $5 Bust Right, BD-3, High R.5, AU50 NGC. Bass-Dannreuther Die State b/c. The letters LIB from LIBERTY are clashed on the reverse near the fletchings, and a vertical crack passes through the left shield corner. A butter-gold early five with luster across the legends, eagle, stars, and curls. Liberty's shoulder and cap display light wear. A thin line is noted on Liberty's forehead, but no other marks are remotely worthy of mention. An opportunity to obtain a lightly circulated example of this rare die marriage.
