Liberty Double Eagles
1889-CC $20 AU50 NGC. CAC. Variety 1-A. The resumption of coining operations at the Nevada branch mint resulted in the production of 30,945 twenty dollar gold pieces in 1889. That year and mintmark combination is famed for the Morgan dollars that bear it, but these double eagles are actually many times scarcer. Traces of green and rose-gold provide color to this well-struck and briefly circulated representative. Partial luster and small marks appear over each side.
