Liberty Double Eagles
1901-S $20 MS64 PCGS. From a mintage that approaches 1.6 million double eagles, the 1901-S is available for a minimal premium in lower circulated grades. Select Uncirculated coins are scarce but collectible, while Choice representatives are exceedingly elusive and nearly impossible to upgrade. Well-defined, radiant orange-gold surfaces house boldly rendered design elements. Parallel die striations are more prominent on the reverse than the obverse. PCGS has only seen two finer submissions (1/17).
