Proof Commemorative Gold
1925 Medal Norse Gold PR58 PCGS. James Earle Fraser was commissioned to design a medal celebrating the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Norwegians on board the Restauration. Merely 100 gold medals were struck, and a prohibitive $20 price tag resulted in the sale of just 47 pieces. The rest were melted. A couple of minute ticks appear on each side, but evidence of even the slightest bit of cabinet friction is imperceptible. Population: 2 in 58, 19 finer (12/16).
