1868 5C Five Cents, Judd-633, Pollock-705, R.4, PR66 Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. The obverse is a larger variant of the three cent nickel design, while the reverse has a large V in the center surrounded by a laurel wreath and a small Maltese cross at the top. IN GOD WE TRUST is on a ribbon around the cross. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. The "high date" Pollock variant of this pattern, was an attempt by the mint to achieve design conformity among the two copper-nickel denominations. This untoned Gem is boldly struck and possesses outstanding white-on-black Deep Cameo contrast. Essentially perfect aside from a faint handling mark on the central reverse.
