1871 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-1097, Pollock-1233, R.7, PR65+ Red Cameo PCGS. This Longacre design shows Liberty seated facing left on the obverse with the date 1871 below and 13 stars arranged around the border. The reverse depicts the denomination 25 CENTS within a wreath of cotton and corn. The word STANDARD is at the top rim. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. An estimated dozen copper pieces are known of this design. Rich copper-red luster enriches this boldly struck Gem. Essentially undisturbed by contact, although a few areas of cloudiness are seen on the reverse.
