Victory places naval crown, laurel, and palm atop naval trophies, inscribed SPES ET VIRES HOSTIUM FRACTAE, HISPAN. OPES AMERIC. INTERCEPT, Hope and Strength of the Enemy Broken, Spanish Treasure Intercepted. The reverse legend celebrates the strength of the French and Dutch, displaying an aerial view of Vigo with flaming ships.
