Betts-404. 1758 Capture of Louisbourg. Bath Metal. AU58 PCGS. Admiral Boscawen captured the massive fortress at Louisbourg (the greatest fortress in America at the time) and gained control of the St. Lawrence River for the British. Boscawen faces right on the obverse, and a view of the siege appears on the reverse. Exceptional olive-brown surfaces exhibit rich golden-tan color that is faded from original mint color.
