Engraved by John Kirk, this medal features a river-god being accosted by a vicious-looking beaver on the obverse and an inconsolable Canadienne at the foot of a pine tree on the reverse, evoking the Judea Capta issues of ancient Rome. Prooflike light silver surfaces exhibit faint blue and gold peripheral toning. 40.7 mm, 30.8 grams. (Est. $6,000-$8,000).
