(circa-1800) Westwood Medal MS64 PCGS. Baker-81B, Musante GW-82. Fire-gilt bronze, 41mm, plain edge. After the 1792 death of his father, Obadiah Westwood continued in the Birmingham token and medal business, associated with his brother, John Westwood, Jr., and father-and-son engravers John Gregory Hancock. A sharply struck and unabraded example with uniform lemon-gold gilt. The middle front of the holder exhibits scratches without impact on the stellar preservation of the present piece. Incorrectly designated by PCGS as Baker-80B. (Est. $1,500-$2,000).
